Child Safety Statement

At Olympic Neighbourhood House, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for all children and young people.

We believe that every child has the right to feel safe, be heard, and thrive in a community that values their wellbeing.

We uphold the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and embed child safety into our culture, policies, and practices.

This includes:

• Zero tolerance for child abuse or harm in any form.

• Actively listening to children and young people, respecting their voices, and involving them in decisions that affect them.

• Ensuring staff and volunteers are appropriately screened, trained, and supported to uphold child safety standards.

• Creating physically and emotionally safe spaces that are welcoming and inclusive of all children, including those from diverse backgrounds and with additional needs.

• Maintaining clear procedures for responding to concerns or complaints and ensuring these are accessible and child friendly.

• Regularly reviewing and improving our child safety practices in consultation with families, children, and the broader community.

We are committed to continuous learning and collaboration to ensure Olympic Neighbourhood House remains a trusted and safe place for children and young people.

If you have any questions or concerns about child safety at our organisation, please contact us directly. Together, we can build a stronger, safer community for all.
