Governance Structure
Olympic Neighbourhood House is governed by a Committee of Management (COM) because it is an incorporated association under Victorian law.
This structure is common for community organisations, Learn Locals, and Neighbourhood Houses, and it ensures:
Legal compliance: As an incorporated association, the organisation must have a governing body to meet the requirements of the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 (Vic).
Community representation: The COM is made up of local community members who bring diverse perspectives and ensure the organisation remains responsive to community needs.
Strategic oversight: The COM provides leadership, approves budgets, monitors risk, and sets long-term goals.
Accountability and transparency: It ensures that the organisation operates ethically, responsibly, and in line with its mission and funding agreements.
Our Committee of Management
The Committee of Management at Olympic Neighbourhood House plays a vital role in guiding our strategic direction and ensuring strong governance across all areas of our work. Comprising dedicated local community members and professionals, the Committee supports our mission to deliver inclusive education, community services, and opportunities for connection. Their leadership helps us remain responsive, accountable, and aligned with the needs of the diverse communities we serve.
