Online Administration Skills
This Online Administration Skills Course is designed to build practical digital and office administration skills through real-world, hands-on activities. Delivered over 20 online sessions, each 2.5 hours, the course focuses on tasks and scenarios commonly encountered in a modern office environment.
Students will develop confidence using digital tools while learning how to manage everyday administrative responsibilities such as communication, scheduling, document creation, customer service, and online systems. All learning is contextualised to office-based roles, ensuring skills are immediately transferable to employment or further study.
This course is ideal for stay-at-home parents and caregivers, people with mobility challenges, those currently working, or anyone who prefers the flexibility of online learning. No advanced technical knowledge is required, and students will be supported to get set up and comfortable using Zoom and online learning platforms.
What you will learn:
Throughout the course, students will gain skills in:
Professional Communication: effective written and verbal communication, email etiquette, phone protocols, organising meetings, creating agendas, and taking minutes
Computer Skills: using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), file management, printing settings, and essential office software
Internet & Online Ordering: ordering office supplies, arranging catering, booking couriers/taxis
Customer Service: providing professional & friendly service to clients, colleagues, & stakeholders
Office Procedures: diary management, online calendars, scheduling, and workflow organisation
Health & Safety: complying with workplace safety regulations & promoting a safe & healthy environment
Teamwork & Collaboration: professional email practices, CC/BCC use, & effective collaboration in a team setting
Office Terminology: understanding common workplace terms such as onboarding, compliance, agenda, minutes, scheduling, and letterhead
Cyber Safety: identifying spam and phishing emails, knowing what to do (and what not to do)
Job Search Skills: preparing resumes, cover letters, and building confidence for employment pathways
By the end of the course, students will feel confident navigating digital tools, communicating professionally, and performing core administration tasks in an online or office-based workplace.
