How to get involved

Many hands make light work

As a not-for-profit community centre we rely on the support of others to help us continue to deliver classes and activities to those in need. There are many different ways you can support our work from donating, to volunteering to contributing a skill to run a program. Getting involved is a great way to not only make good things happen but also to meet other people.

Olympic Neighbourhood House strives to provide assistance to community members to gain confidence and skills to reach their potential. Not all of our programs are funded through government sources and often the real breakthroughs come from activities and innovations that governments rarely fund. If you would like to make a donation, you will be directly helping people in Heidelberg West and surrounds receive the support they need to reach their potential.

All donations are tax deductible.

Olympic Neighbourhood House is supported by a large group of dedicated volunteers like retired teachers, accountants, mums, university students and members of the local community. Our volunteers provide valuable weekly support to teachers in classes, assist with student learning activities, help students develop conversation skills and provide administration support to teachers. Prospective volunteers have an appointment with our Volunteer Coordinator to see if volunteer and organisational needs match. After being recruited, new volunteers are given an induction into the organisation and the volunteer program.  It is important at Olympic Neighbourhood House that volunteers enjoy working with us and feel part of our community.
