Certificate III in Early Childhood and Education is nationally accredited qualification the minimum requirement needed for employment in the Early Childhood industry such as Kindergartens, Early Learning Centres, Occasional Care and Out of School Hours Care. This course runs for 9 months. Students must also complete a placement component of the course for 120 hours.

Diploma in Early Childhood and Education is nationally accredited qualification. This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. It is a requirement needed for employment in the Early Childhood industry such as Kindergartens, Early Learning Centres, Occasional Care and Out of School Hours Care and the room leader position. This course runs for 12 months. Students must also complete a placement component of the course for 240 hours.

Some subject areas include: Early Years Learning Framework, Health and Safety, Early Childhood Development, Legal and Ethical Issues, Nurturing creativity in children, working in partnership with families and First Aid

Classes

Wednesday and Thursday are classroom based days from 9.30am–3.00pm at 233 Southern Road, Heidelberg West

All students are supported to achieve their qualification. Small classes sizes with solid face to face quality training

Course Costs

Course costs are determined by the enrolled units/modules nominal Student Contact Hours (SCH), plus the Amenities Fee ($30 per year, $20 per semester or $10 per term).

You may be eligible for government funding which could save you thousands

Computer Skills

Computer Basics   (ACFE Funded)

Learn the basics of how to use a computer including eBay, Facebook, Skype and PayPal. Topics include creating and saving documents, internet and email. As this course is self-paced, enrolments can occur when there is a vacancy.

Wednesday 3.15pm – 6.15pm

Basic Digital Literacy 2 (Intermediate)

Wednesday 11.30am – 2.30pm

Basic Digital Literacy 3 (low)

Tuesday 3.15pm – 6.15pm

Introduction to Floristry (ACFE Funded)

Learn the basics of floristry, including care of flowers, simple arranging techniques using baskets, boxes, vases & creating posies.

Playgroup Facilitation Skills

This course targets those who want to learn how to facilitate and manage their own playgroup. PLaygroup facilitation involves planning activities, managing children, liaising with and communicating with parents, and administration.
